Five Top Tips To Increase Your Energy

Hey Hey Hey Hey There! How are you doing today? Bursting with energy, I hope.

Yesterday I wrote a blog post about the Power of Energy. You can check it out here if you happened to miss it. It talked about tuning into your energy. Well today I am sharing with you my Top Five Tips to Increase Energy.

First, let's begin by tuning in and getting a sense of where our energy is on a scale of 1 - 10. 1 is that you are feeling like you could hide under the bed. Heaviness and sluggishness are settled into every cell. 10 is like you just had a hit of runner's high combined with winning the lottery. Your smile feels ear to ear.

Close your eyes (unless you are driving, and then why the hell are you reading this post while driving? That shit is dangerous).
Take a nice deep breath in through your nose and exhale out of your mouth.
Ask yourself, where does my energy rate on a scale of 1-10. And number is going to bubble up. Perfect. That is the number. No need to second guess it or wish that it were higher. Where you are right now is absolutely perfect. Gold Star for you.

Now, ask yourself, am I happy with this number? If the answer is yes. Great. If not, even better. You now have the perfect opportunity to apply one or all of the following 5 techniques to increase your energy. With each of these tips, always assess where you are on the energy scale. Before and After so that you can appreciate the improvement.

Tip One: 20 Breaths In and Out through your nose as fast as you can. I learned this at a Kundalini workshop. You may want to have a tissue handy. I learned that the hard way. Not sexy.

Tip Two: Using only your brain power. Tell your brain that it's job is to increase your energy levels by 1 -2 points. Close your eyes. Picture a pinball game. The little ball bouncing off the edges and the flippers. It is really moving. Now watch it moving faster and faster. It is going so fast it has those little tracers. Where it looks like streaks of light everywhere. It is moving so fast and with such force the pinball machine is starting to lift up off of the ground. Do this for a minute as you feel every cell of your brain and body responding faster and faster. This also works with picturing a rollercoaster as well.

Tip Three: Laughter. It seriously is the best medicine. Get your phone out. Set a timer for 30 seconds. Or a minute. And for those 30 seconds, you are going to fake laugh. Outloud. YES, OUTLOUD. You can start with a timid heeheehee or hahaha. And then start using different voices. High pitch. Deep. You pick. Let a smile cross your face as you do it. Really allow yourself to get into it. Chances are that when you are finished, you are laughing for real. Your brain doesn't know if you are faking it or not and starts sending you some feel good endorphins

Tip Four: Tap It Up. Don't worry this does not involve tap shoes. Although tap shoes make my energy list...just not the top five. Practice Emotional Freedom Technique aka Tapping. I am a huge fan girl of Margaret Lynch. And I use her youtube video Something Big Is Happening Here . I use this daily actually. I love it.

Tip Five: This tip isn't for the kiddos. Yet it may be the one you appreciate most. Have fun in the shower. A removable shower head can be your best friend. It is stress relieving. You get the feel good endorphins, increased energy and bursts of creativity. I find this tip to be very good when one is feeling stuck or blocked. Resistance be gone. Maybe that is what we can name it. LOL.

Ok, there you have it. The top five tips to increase your energy. Let me know which one worked best for you.

Until tomorrow, have a day as Beautiful as you,

So much Love & Gratitude,

Lisa

The Power of Energy

Do you know what I hear most from people?  It isn't about my hair, or my height or my laugh that sounds like a donkey when I really get laughing hard.

People almost always say, that they love my energy. And they comment like that whether they are meeting me in person, reading a post, watching a livestream or talking to me on the phone. And I never used to really take to heart what a compliment that truly was. I brushed it off. One day I asked people what the number one compliment that they receive was and I heard a plethora of answers. None of which had anything to do with energy.

This got me thinking that this compliment was a pretty beautiful one to receive. And when I think of people that I believe have great energy, they are some of the greats. I am in the same category as them. Whoa. Cooooool. Let's take a quick detour for a second. I want you to think of the compliment that you receive the most. Can't think of one? Ask on Facebook what people love most about you. When you get your answer, take a moment to really breathe it in. Own that sucker. Because it is yours. Sure, it may be a little uncomfortable to ask for compliments and then to really let them sink in. Instead you are much more comfortable sitting in all the shitty things you tell yourself. And that could range from cottage cheese thighs to being stupid, a chickenshit, a loser, a dumbass, etc. Challenge yourself to really sit with your greatness for a moment today.

Ok, returning to the freeway. Our energy is so incredibly important. It determines what kind of day you are going to have. It radiates out from you, like an invisible bat signal. People read it consciously and unconsciously. It tells people everything about you. Whether or not they want to come closer, or run away. Whether or not they want to trust you, get to know you, like you. BUY FROM YOU even.

So answer me this, how much time and effort do you spend really tuning into your energy and adjusting it for the type of day that you wish to have? For the benefits that you wish to receive?

My guess, as I look out onto the world of social media and the interwebz, is that you aren't giving it much attention. And that can be for a plethora of reasons. You didn't know it was that important. You had an inkling of an idea and just had no clue how to adjust it. Or you knew, you are busy doing so many other things that this falls off the page of your get to do list. Or you just don't give a shit.
Tune in as to your answer as you read this. No judgment as to which category you fall into. You get to choose. But do not doubt for one second that if you choose to shift your energy, that it has the power to shift your results and your life.

What People Desire Most

Today I spent the day at the hospital with one of my best friends. We are so close that I call her Sista Krista. If anyone asks, I always say she is my sister. Now, because I am a kind and loving friend, I will not plaster her medical history all over the interwebz.

As I sat with her, she reminded me of what people desire most. Do you know what that is? Nope, it isn't a Big Mac. Krista only wants those AFTER we leave the hospital. People want to feel heard.

Have you ever been trying in vain to get your point across only to have someone gulping like a guppie waiting for you to take a breath so they could get a word in edgewise? Or worse, you are sharing with someone, something really personal only to receive no response at all because they are mindlessly scrolling facebook or texting someone else?

Now, I fully admit, I have been guilty of both responses. And it is rude as hell. I have likely taken it even ten steps further and spoke over them while they were still talking (the loudest person wins) or walked out of the room while they were still speaking.

The greatest gift we can give someone is the willingness to listen. To give up our need to be right, to comment, have an opinion, fix, argue, disagree or even agree with someone. To remember that each and every single one of us are Divine beings. We have all walked our own paths and developed our own perspectives.

When we listen in this manner we give them the opportunity to talk things out, to sort through things, in their own space, and in their own way. We do not rob them of the spiritual experience and opportunity for growth. We show love through listening. It is so empowering to remember that we are all powerful and have the ability to figure it out.

Did you know that listening with your heart is a spiritual practice? Sit with another person and let them know that you are just going to listen. Simply hold space for them. Witness them as they voice their truth. And see what miracles unfold.

How powerful would it be to grant someone the gift that they desire most and it won't even cost you a dime?

Are you looking for someone to listen? Let's connect. Book a time here.

The Perfect Place To Start

Have you ever struggled to find the perfect place to start? It likely started with a feeling of dissatisfaction. A desire to change and then soon following that, a feeling of overwhelm.

I have been there so many times. Let me take blogging for example. I "used" to write a consistent blog. For thirty-one days in a row. One entire month of July. Nearly 4 years ago. Something had inspired me to say yes to a blog challenge all those years ago. Perhaps it was because blogs were what you had to have in order to establish yourself as an expert. Or maybe it was because all of the cool kids were doing it. I cannot remember my why at the time. All that I can remember is that it was a hugely rewarding experience. For more than a few reasons. One of them being that I met my BFF (Blogging Friend Forever) there. We have since evolved into actual besties. Even though we have never met in real life. Sometime in early August of 2013, I gave up blogging. I would post sporadically here and there. And was never consistent with it. I was so inconsistent with it that I cannot remember where I even hosted the blog I briefly entertained last year. Have you been there?

Now, that you have more than enough back story, let us get on with the point.

You have decided that something needs to change. You can feel it in your bones. And you have no idea where to find the starting line. Let me help with that.

The starting line is the line in the sand. The demarcation line as Brendon Burchard calls it in his book, The Motivation Manifesto . The line you draw when you are no longer willing to accept the status quo. You start from that decision.

It has been said that the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time to plant a tree is today.

Once you have made the decision to start. Do just that. Start. Today. Start today with where you are and what you have. You can learn new skills as you go. You can get new tools and equipment next time you are out. Start right now.

Allow me to demonstrate what I mean by that. I asked my beloved BFF (Kieta Synnove) on Saturday if she were willing to commit to blogging daily. We agreed to start Monday. In my mind, we said for 30 days. However, looking back at the exact timeline, we did not put any timeline in place. So for the sake of walking my walk rather than just incessant talking, I am committing to 30 days of Blogging. 30 days in a row of blogging.

So, I got Kieta on board and then quickly realized...shit...I have no idea how to actually put this up on my website. Technolo-Geez at its finest. I tried to make arrangements with Kieta to fit in a little training time, and alas, she has a life and is busy. The nerve of her.

Now, in all likelihood, you are reading this blog post on blogger. Not at www.rebelhearted.com, which is my fancy website. I have committed to starting where I am at. #noexcuses . It can be transferred over later. Or never. Either way, I am not allowing it to be my excuse for not starting.

Let me sum it all up for you. The perfect place to start is with the decision to start. The second step is to start from where you are at, with what you have got. Right now. Today.

Want to supercharge your staying power? Tell someone what you have committed to. I dare you to comment on this very post and tell me what you are committing to.

F*CK The Funnel - Relationships First!

These days so many people are busy crafting opt-in, sales funnels and landing pages. They invest hours into creating PDF'S and other Freebies. They never launch a thing until all of these things are in place.
And they can keep doing it. But I am going to let you in on a little secret. I delete your newsletters. I download and never read your Freebie. I recoil at the sheer number of lists I am on. I unsubscribe and find myself being the subject of posts how I can't hack your greatest because I desire a clean inbox more focused on my agenda than yours.
I have no funnel myself. Not one that I use any way. Just one I built because I felt I fricking had to. I don't think I have sent more than 4 newsletters during the life of this business (and three of them was me apologizing for not sending any).
Three weeks ago I signed my own permission slip. Promised myself I would only do business in a way that lights me up. I said - F*ck the Funnel. Never Again to the Newsletter. Sayanora to the Sales Page. Dumped the Discovery Call.
Instead...I talk to people. I learn who you are. What you love. What brought you here. I fully embody SERVICE FIRST. Then sales. Or service then service then service and maybe sales. Or maybe service then friendship then joint venture then drunk on the lawn.
So if you are tired of not loving your business. Tired of trying to fit in. Tired of doing what everyone else is doing. I invite you to pump your fists in the air, shout F*CK YA and connect with me.
You never know what may come of it.
So much love,
Lisa

The Pay Off of Doing What Scares You

Wow, it has been a looooonnnnngggggg time since I last wrote a blog post. I have just kept myself from doing it because I was trapped in perfection. If I didn't write something that would change your life forever...there is no sense in ever bothering to write. I am not even certain where that thought came from originally but it surely has affected many areas of my life.

In fact as I type that out I realize that the perfection trap has been a theme for months now. Some time last fall I felt myself needing to bring my energy more inward. To take the time to reflect and to incubate some of the ideas I was playing with. And along the way...that shifted into avoiding doing something because it would not be perfect.

The trap of perfection is a dangerous one. It can make you spin around and get stuck. It can drain you of all of your beautiful energy. And it can make you second guess whether you are living your life's purpose. This is deadly.

Have you ever noticed that you can be feeling really great about something there can be this little voice that asks "Are you sure about that"? Don't listen to that voice. It is a trap. It is designed to keep us playing small and safe.

Now, being safe is a good thing when it is a matter of life or death but this voice doesn't discern between a run in with a gunman and when you are signing up to try a new exercise class.

If you always listen to the voice (and do what it tells you) you will soon find that you are feeling a little dull or worse...lifeless. Luann Cahn tells the story of that happening to her in the book 'I Dare Me'. She had successfully raised a child, built a great career, overcome cancer and was still feeling stuck.  She made a commitment to try something new EVERY DAY for a YEAR!

With each task she stepped outside her comfort zone. Sure somethings were easier than others but imagine how many times she would have had to avoid the trap of perfection. Major Kudos to her.

As I read that book I thought that I wanted to feel more alive. To feel more excitement and passion in my life. So I have been spreading the world that I am committed to saying Yes a whole lot more to the things that scare me. If it doesn't go against my belief system and it won't kill me at first glance...I am going to say yes.  Now, I have been going with the flow and not saying I need to do it daily. But I have been trying to do it weekly.  And so far this year I have done five things that really stand out to me.
1. I tried Zumba - I was dreadful but man did I laugh a lot. Thanks Tangie and Krista for going with me.
2. I rode my horse bareback and with a halter on a moonlit ride with two girl friends. (Now, I have ridden bareback more times that I can count....but not this guy and YES..I wore a helmet.)
3. I took a Spin Class and again...I wasn't the best in the room but I gave it my best.
4. I ate avocados....I even made my own guacamole and it wasn't half bad.
5. I went to the dentist. Without any prompting from my husband and without any reminder cards in the mail. I am (wait...scratch that) I used to be terrified of the dentist. Making me go to the dentist was a lot like putting a cat in the dryer who has been around and around in the dryer before.

And the rewards that I have received from doing these things are priceless.
I feel more alive. I feel more courageous. I am inspired to try more things. And I have received feedback that I have inspired others to be more brave - now this is what I live for.

These challenges have truly fed my soul in a way I never imagined.  So I encourage you to put some duct tape over the mouth of the perfectionist in your head and try something you have always what to try. Try it even if you aren't great at it. Celebrate being a beginner. Laugh at how awful you are at it. And be damn proud of yourself for being so damn brave.

I would love to hear what you take on so please feel free to share them in the comments on this post or join me in my Rebel Hearted Women Community

I also invite you to enjoy this short video clip featuring the afterglow from going to the dentist! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ydBjz9cymg

Mid Way Point

Can you believe it?  2014 is half over.  Six months have already slipped away into the past.  Even as you read this more and more time is slipping away.

So I have a question for you.  How did the first half of 2014 treat you?  Are you on target to achieve your goals?  Do you even remember which direction you were heading in when the clock struck midnight on January 1st, 2014?

Each and every year for the past two years I sit down on New Years Eve and I review the year that is coming to an end.  I look at all that I achieved and all that I didn't.  I catalogue my growth in areas and I look to see where improvements can be made.  Then I look at where I want to go in the New Year.  I document the details, toast my husband with Champagne and head to bed dreaming of all the beauty that the new year will bring.

I keep the goals mostly in mind as I move forward however, I always seem to get off track.  This year I promised myself to spend more time and energy focusing on what it is that I wanted to create.  And as the mid point of the year arrives I get the chance to look over those goals.  To assign myself a report card.

At the moment I would have to say that I would grade myself a B -.  My inner critic wants to stamp it with a big red F and call it a day.  But the fact of the matter is...I have done some good work.  I have taken some risks and stepped outside of my comfort zone.  I have worked with clients and those clients have achieved some of their desired results.  I have also watched a lot of Netflix and never launched the group programs that I was working on.  I never took the final step.  I let fear create obstacles.  I didn't stand up for myself.  I let doubt creep in.

One of my most foolish limiting beliefs was brought to light last week when I was running a casual workshop called F*ck the Stuck.  Somehow I got it in my mind that EVERYONE has read the same books as me.  They have received the same takeaways as me and if I was to incorporate those learnings into a class/course/program you would all sit there going "Who does she think she is?  I know this already.  This is not an original thought. FRAUD."  Now as I look back on this I see that it was preposterous notion.  How could anyone see things through my exact same filter?  Answer:  They couldn't.  And it is also highly unlikely that in the last 7 years that I have been on this journey that they read the same 70 + personal development and self help books as me.

On top of that how many thoughts are original?  Aren't we mostly just recycling that which we have heard and experienced before?  We have to be if statistics are true.  It is said that we have 60,000+ thoughts a day and 95-97% of them are the exact same as they were the day before.

So what am I doing with this new found knowledge?  Blogging about it.  Simmering on it.  And in the two days that I have been working since I learned that tidbit I have created one and a half programs.  And one of them launches a week from yesterday.  F*ck the Stuck.  My time is now.  2014 is half over.  And even if I perform at the same level as I did at the beginning of the year I am further ahead than I was when the clock ran out on 2013.

How are you measuring up to your goals set six months ago?  What is getting in your way?

Regardless if you are on track and sailing right along or if you are in the weeds...It is never too late to improve on where you are at.

I wish you all the success you desire in the remaining months of 2014.

Have a Day as Beautiful as You!

So Much Love,
Lisa

#WiseWednesday

Pain is Inevitable - Suffering is Optional.  I am not certain why it is that I feel compelled to blog on this topic because let me tell you...this quote brought with it a lot of turmoil in my life when I last posted it. However, I am feeling drawn to writing about it again...so hold on 'cuz here we go.

Do you ever choose to suffer in your life?  I know that I do.  Often in fact.  And it doesn't feel very good to admit it here...but it is the truth.

How do I define suffering?  Well, suffering is me not choosing to move on from a situation.  For wanting to wallow around in the pain of it.  Telling myself that it is something that I need to be doing.  Would you like an example?  Here is a recent one...I have been developing a product.  This includes filming some videos.  The topic is surrounding self doubt and self sabotage.  I have never made these videos before and I keep getting trapped in my own cycle of self doubt.  Technological issues really trip me up.  If it is not incredibly basic I will spin around and around, not moving forward because I will never figure it out.  Then...I start to beat myself up.  I tell myself I was stupid for even trying, it is never going to work. What a failure.  And then I topped it with what my BFF and I call "suffering gravy".  This is where I bemoan the fact that it didn't turn out.  And allow this to stop me from moving forward onto a new project.  Unwilling to see what good came from the previous attempts, what silver linings were present, what new learnings revealed themselves.  I sit in this place and I fester here until the pain of sitting in it outweighs the fear of change.  This can take seconds, minutes, days, weeks, months or even years.  It all depends on where the suffering stems from.

My mind is great at picking up old episodes of suffering off the shelf, dusting them off and replaying them like they are new releases.  The pain of that past moment does not need to exist in my present moment.  The only reason it shows up is because I have brought it here with me.  If I wanted to...I could let it go.  I could return the suffering to the shelf and allow myself to be present in this moment...a place where the past and future do not exist.

This can sound like I am just being over simplistic and perhaps even uncaring to whatever situation you may have faced or been facing but that is not true.  I make it a practice in my life to love people (and myself) because of their past and inspite of their past.  It is those experiences that have moulded and shaped you to become this beautiful being that you are in this moment.

The wisdom that I want to share with myself and anyone reading this is that we need not suffer.  We can leave the suffering of years and even seconds ago in the past where it belongs.  All we need to do in order to do that is to let go.  Connect with your breath.  Breathe in deep into your belly.  Follow your breath in through your nose, nasal passages, throat, chest, lungs and into your belly.  Witness it there.  Then watch as it leaves the belly travelling up into the lungs and chest, into your throat and mouth and nasal passages out into the world.  Let it go.  Listen to the sounds around you.  See if you can feel a breeze blowing gently across your skin.  Check in with your body and ask what it needs to feel freedom, joy and love.  Repeat this as many times as necessary.  I think that you will find you are no longer swimming in suffering gravy.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this blog post.  So please feel free to comment or email me.

Wishing you a day as Beautiful as you.

Much Love,
Lisa

#ChooseDayTuesday

#ChooseDayTuesday...A day of the week dedicated to choices.  A weekly reminder that we ALWAYS have a choice.   Even if we do not believe that we have one.
It is funny how easily it is for me to fall into the belief pattern that I have no choice in a situation.  For example...Tuesdays are my big client day.  I love having a day that I get to spend the day coaching female entrepreneurs.  Helping them to create a plan so that they can work less, play more and create a financially viable business.
But there are some days when I wake up and I tell myself that my only option is to do my work.  My to do list feeling like it is a "Have" to do list.  A list devoid of choices.  Rather than a "Get" to do list.  This morning I was fretting that I had so much to accomplish in a day.  I looked at my coaching schedule and felt like I had no choice but to put my coaching hat on.  But truth be told...I had another choice...I could have called in sick, sat on my bed, eating cheetos and watching netflix or working on other things.  But that wouldn't have been in my best interest nor would have it been in my clients.  What matters is the simple reminder that we always have a choice.  There are always options.  We don't have to like those options but we do have them.
What are you choosing today?  Today - I am choosing to take small steps that will move me closer to achieving my goals.

Wishing you a Day as Beautiful as You!

Much Love,
Lisa

#MindsetMonday

On a whim I decided to check out my blog....just to see...when exactly was the last time that I posted.  And WOW...I need to blow the dust off.  So here is an impromptu post....talking about the importance of the proper mindset.

Have you ever started your work week with...Oh Shit It Is Monday?  With the level of enthusiasm matching what you would muster to go to the dentist for a root canal with a hangover?  We have such a dislike on for Mondays.  We expect the worst from a Monday...and then it comes as no surprise when the day is filled with detours and disappointments.

What if we looked at it as though it could hold just as much promise if not more so than any other day?  What could happen then?

The thoughts we think set us up for success or for failure.  Our mindset is the key to our future.  It is said that we have upwards of 60,000 thoughts per day and 95% of them are identical to the thoughts we had the day before.  It is like one big loop.  It is important for us to check in...are my thoughts positive?  or Negative?  Will they bring me closer to what I want?  Or further away from it?  Now take it a step further...what do I need to be telling myself so that I am empowered to be successful in making what I want a reality?

The more frequently we check in the better off we will be.  Now it is easy for me to write this but much more difficult for me to apply it.  In fact there are so many different times that I talk myself out of doing something that could positively impact my life.  I tell myself that it is hard so why bother, that no one would appreciate it, that I have nothing of value to say and other bullshit like that.  When I find myself in a cycle like that I need to snap out of it.

My favourite way to do that is as simple as a two minute fix.  If you work with me you will know it as a 2 minute random dance party.  Pick your favourite mood boosting, fear blasting, booty shaking song and get it playing on youtube or itunes and get up and dance.  I bet that by the time you are done...you are feeling better.  If that didn't work choose another song and try it again and break out your cheesiest moves.

I want to know your best mindset improving tips so please add them to the comments...let me know what works for you.  I just may ask you to share them with me on my podcast.

Are you wanting to connect more?  Follow me on FacebookInstagram and Twitter.  Or if you would prefer...spend an hour with me learning what could be stopping you from getting what you want in your life and business.  Visit my website to contact me.

Until next time...Have a Day as Beautiful as You!

How Do You Feel? Aka Day 2 of 20 - List Building Blogging Challenge

Today's prompt - How Do My Clients Feel Before They Work With Me?

This is a relatively simple question for me to answer.  And the reason for this is that my ideal clients are feeling the way I once was.  So it makes it easy for me to be in touch with those emotions.

Before working with me my clients are....
Feeling frustrated.  They want to have it ALL.  The career, the love life, the lifestyle and the cash to pay for it all.  They take stock of their life and realize...they may be rocking some areas of this and the other areas are falling flat.

Women come to me wanting to know how to cash in on their passion.  They have a business that they love (or an idea for a business that they are in LOVE with).  They are pouring their heart into it.  They are doing their best to dodge the fear land mines that are standing in their path.  Even though they don't know exactly how they can grow their business are wanting to move it forward.  They fight the battle of sticking it out and making it work or *gulp* giving it up and getting a job.  Even the very thought of getting a job makes their stomach turn.

They are feeling trapped.  The biz isn't bringing in the dinero, the cake, the cash, the flow that they need/want.  They have people in their lives that are looking at them, waiting to say....I told you so....get a real job, give up the dream and get back to reality.  These people are just projecting their own fears onto the Rebel Hearted Woman.  The Rebel Hearted Woman knows that she feels most alive when she is chasing her dream.  When she is doing what she loves best and serving the World from her heart.  If she could only get her fears and the naysayers to shut up.

They are looking around their lives and knowing that it could hold so much more if they only had someone who believed in them. Secretly they are asking....how can I have it all?  Am I just being selfish?  Is it possible to... Travel the World - Totally Possible!  Fulfilling Relationship - Absofuckinglutely!  Rocking Business - Uhm Hello Why are you doubting this?!  A sense of Community and comfort knowing that you are not the only one wanting it all and going about making it reality? - CHECK!

Sometimes they have their business all figured out and the romance department is totally off the tracks.  Oh sure they would like to have a partner that treats them right.  That knows what a catch they are.  But relationships take work and so do new businesses so they pour themselves into the biz.  They date a person who is not a good fit because hey...we get lonely and the bed gets cold.  All work and no play makes Jane a dull and bitchy gal.  Sometimes it is even worse than that...they have this fucked up belief that they can't actually have it all.  One can only be blessed in one area of their lives at a time....so if I want my business to rock I have to settle for someone that treats me good "most" of the time.  LIES!!!!!!!  Big Ass Bold Face Lies!

My clients also flock to me feeling like they have some serious money blocks.  They are doing what they should and still the World conspires to take their money.  For example:  They are signing up new clients, the bank account is in the black, that new pair of Jimmy Choos are looking like a reality and then....BAM!  The car breaks down, the dryer stops drying and the deep freeze has turned into a defrosted puddle of mushy meats.  Proof that you can't have it all right???  WRONG!  Absolutely untrue and yet still a lie masquerading as a truth.

Most recently I have also found that my clients come to me wanting to reunite with their Rebel Hearted side - to step outside their comfort zones.  We get comfy and complacent and the next thing we know...we have lost momentum.  Our fears kick in and soon we are overwhelmed and stuck.  I have learned that I have a beautiful knack for holding space for people.  I can hold your feet to the fire while standing next to you.  We can break through fear barriers together.  We can do this through emotional and verbal exercises....or we can jump off a mountain.  You choose...I am up for both.

Regardless of how my clients come to me feeling I am always more excited about how they feel after they have worked with me....stay tuned for a future blog post featuring some wicked client testimonials and outstanding results.

Day One of Twenty List Building Blog Challenge - What Do I Love About My Business?

What Do I Love About My Business?

The fact that I made it up of course!  It is true...my company is a made up "job"  that brings me many gifts.  Freedom, Pleasure, Passion, Purpose and Joy.

One day I was speaking my truth and I offended a follower on Facebook.  Let's call her Sandra Sufferer. This called in the drama, and allowed for everyone's fear to flood the surface. Later I discovered that Sandra Sufferer had posted on Facebook that I was so pathetic that I needed to make up my own job.  And the effect of reading that statement was so....freeing!

I loved it.  Of course I made up my own job.  Before reading this I was trying to fit into the role of a life coach.  And I had no fucking idea what a life coach was.  I gave myself permission to drop the title of coach.  I started to play with my title.  I am a Community Creator and Connector.  I am a Rebel Hearted Woman.  I am exactly who I am in any given moment.

My business allows me to be me.  I am able to stand in my truth, to speak my truth, to listen, to hug, to heal, to play and grow.  To Glow and To Flow.  I am able to help women stand and speak their truth.  I am able to create and hold space for women to transform their lives.  I am able to do what I love and love what I do every moment of every day.

Who wouldn't love that?

Are you looking to connect with your passion?  Want to stand in and speak your truth?  Curious about meeting your inner Rebel Heart?  Feel free to connect with me for a complimentary Power Hour Session.  60 Minutes dedicated to discovering you.  How delicious is that? Connect With Me Here

The Balancing Act

Life is truly our greatest teacher.  This past weekend I was taught a lesson on balance.  And if I may be really candid...it wasn't a very pleasant lesson in the moment.  However, now that I am on the other side of it...I can see the blessing in it.

I am participating in a group coaching program called "Loving Your 3P's" with Mai Vu .  I have been partnered with an amazing and loving woman named Karen.  And 99% of the time we are on the same wave length. This program involves a lot of deep and emotional work.  So there are a few times where we trigger one another.  Saturday was one of those times.

Karen is one of those women who focuses wholeheartedly on her family and personal relationships.  On Saturday she was sharing with me her struggles.  And as I was listening I was trying to get some items on my business to do list checked off.  Now I knew that Karen was trying to muster up some energy to gain some momentum for her business but that took a pause as she tended to her personal relationships.

Of course I handled this situation with grace and sensitivity....NOT!  Instead I asked her if she thought maybe she had created the drama in her personal relationships as a way of distracting her working on her business.  This of course did not meet a warm reception and ended with me telling her that I couldn't discuss it with her further because it left me wanting to rescue her.  It didn't matter to me that she wasn't a victim and didn't require rescuing.  All that mattered in that moment is how blind I thought that she was being. And how frustrated I was by how she had the audacity to turn me away.

It didn't occur to me until an hour later that Karen was triggering me in a major way.  I was upset that she had the nerve to put personal relationships before her business.  Here I am putting business in the forefront and personal relationships on the back burner.  Why can't she just see that my way was the right way?  My husband and daughter will wait until I get this whole business thing sorted out.....right?

What an ugly truth I had to face staring back at me in the mirror....I was doing it AGAIN!    Spending all of my time and energy on the business.  Expecting those that I love most in life to wait.  To just stay dormant until the magical day came that that business was running smoothly and I had time to lounge around and love them.  Because of course I have a crystal ball that predicts that this day will happen much before my baby is a teenager who would rather be locked in her room than snuggle with her Mom.

This was so incredibly painful to find myself here...AGAIN. Without noticing I had slipped back into the same old pattern.  Just like putting on those comfy runners that were miled out years ago.  Comfy and familiar but no longer enough to support you and keep you injury free.

So where did I go from here?  First I denied it.  This isn't right.  Everyone knows a new business takes extra care and attention during its first three years.  Like a newborn baby.  Ignore the fact that I spent my daughter's first years fully immersed in other businesses.  Don't remind me of that.  And certainly don't mention the fact that out of the five years I have been with my husband that I have found myself burnt out, wore out and disconnected from my higher self....THREE TIMES!  In five years!  Please, please, please -  do not draw attention to that fact because I do NOT want to look at that.

The next thing I did was reach out. I contacted my coach and my BFF.  I was able to let out all of the feelings that seeing that had brought up for me.  Anger, shame, blame, guilt, frustration, exasperation...just to name a few.  Oh sure this wasn't all sunshine and rainbows.  I spent time in and out of my "dreaded judgy pants" .  I let myself marinate in this pool of emotions.  And then...I reached the place I am in now.

Evaluating where I really am.  Where am I finding myself?  And the answer to that is this:
I am in a legitimate building stage of my business.  And that means that it needs my focus and attention. But it does not need my undivided attention.

My marriage is strong...for now.  Chris and I have had many conversations about whether or not I am pulling my weight. And he always tells me as long as I remember that I have a daughter.

And Delly, she is closing in on being 4 years old.  She changes every minute.  And when I am glued to the computer and the phone....I am missing those changes.  Sure she still loves me.  But I am missing out.  And I can't get that time back.  None of us can.

This inventory shows plenty of growth opportunities...aka...room for improvement.

So here is the plan.
> Stricter business boundaries.  I can make it through a meal without emailing or writing the next big program.  It will be tough...but I can do it!
> Less time reading business related books. More time reading Children's Books.
> More play time.  Uninterrupted play.  The phone can ring and the emails can wait.
> More bubble baths.  That start with me soaking and end with Delly "styling" my hair.
> More Laughter, Love and Joy
> And more romantic date nights with my handsome Husband.  Any willing babysitters in the crowd?  LOL.

This plan will shift and adapt as our needs do.  And I will be honest...there will likely be days where I shift play time to work with a client.  And I may even work through dinner.  But I may also call it a snow angel day and cancel work just to hang out with Delly.  The important part is that I have gained awareness as to where I am in the cycle.  And I don't have to continue with it until I reach burnout.  Yay for growth! Instead I have armed myself with a plan.  And I have already begun to put said plan into motion.

Stay tuned for future blog posts to see how I have turned up my Joy level in both my personal relationships and my business.

If you can identify with the feeling of giving your career or business 110% til you reach burnout.  Or you know what it feels like to be out of balance and your personal relationships have hit the backburner.  Or your connection with your highest/wisest self is buried deep beneath a stack of ever growing to do lists....

The Dreaded Judgy Pants

Have you ever sat in judgement? That place where you comment on the choices someone else is making in their lives?  The whispers about how her ass looks in those pants.    The big smile and the quick hug "Oh Darling, Did you lose weight?  You are looking Fabulous!"  Even though in your mind you have catalogued their wardrobe as being out of season and clinging to the muffin top and having a little wear on the cuffs of her jacket?  She may have lost weight but she could really use a new hairstyle.

Or what about the time that you spend on the phone with a friend listening supportively only to get off the phone and roll your eyes and make a comment to your spouse - there is no WAY she is ready to move in with that Guy...what the fuck is she thinking?

Here is my confession.  I sometimes fall into this trap.  More frequently than I like to admit.  And this is hard for me to admit.  After all, I am a community creator and connector.  I work with women every single day!  I talk about how we need to band together, lift each other up and support one another.  And yet, here I am today writing about how I am guilty of tearing another woman down.  What is up with that?

I could sit here and pretend that I am never guilty of this hideous crime.  I could be righteous and self serving and suggest that I am above all of that.  And that would serve no one aside from my ego.  The truth is I know when I am at risk of falling into this trap.  I see the warning signs from miles away.  Here are a few of them:
1) I am running myself ragged on tight deadlines
2) I am fuelling my body with processed/packaged foods and the closest I get to a vegetable is the wimpy carrots and celery that limply accompanied my greasy double fried hot wings.
3) The water I am consuming has taken the form of coffee and red wine.
4)  My scale is flashing numbers that I am not loving....at least not in that order.
5)  My clothes feel tight, and frumpy.
and the most common denominator:
I am not feeling very loving towards myself.  I am busy bullying and pushing myself around. I certainly do not have enough love floating around that I could even consider extending to others.

When I am able to stop beating myself I become aware that I have put on my judgy pants.

What are my judgy pants?  They are these hideous burnt orange in color polyester/wool blend pants.  They are itchy and crackly. They are two inches two short and a size too small.  And when I find myself in them....it is really uncomfortable.  And to be caught wearing them is even worse.  Even writing about it now makes me feel uncomfortable.  Tightness grips my chest.  Anxiety runs rampant about how I will be judged for judging others.

Today I am throwing caution to the wind.  I am bravely going where I have not gone before.  I am admitting to sitting, standing and lounging in judgement.  And I invite you to join me.  There is sense of freedom in declaring that you are not perfect.  There is a sense of fun that comes with designing your judgy pants.  And last but not least there is a sense of awareness that comes with realizing when and how we sit in judgement of others.

So here is my call to action.  Look at where you are judgemental - of yourself and of others.  Envision what your judgy pants look like.  Admit it to yourself and... if you are feeling really brave post some of those ways in the comments below.  And when you find yourself wearing your judgy pants....ask yourself what you can do to refuel your love bank so there is more love to go around.

Today We Gives Thanks

As I sit here to write this blog post my heart is full.  It feels in fact like it is overflowing.  My life is incredibly blessed.  And I am learning to love every bit of it.  Even the part of me that insisted I add the word learning.  Because I struggle with loving every part of myself.  The ragey, bitchy, judgmental, money fearing part of me....isn't all that cuddly.  But I am learning.  And for that...I am totally grateful.  What a journey! Wow!  I just need a moment to breathe it all in.

As I start to count what it is that I am grateful for...I immediately think that there is not enough space in a single blog post to count the sheer number of things I am grateful for.

So here is the short list.  I am grateful that I am married to my best friend.  Who loves me...all of me...even the rage, bitchy, judgmental, money fearing parts of me.  Who shows me that I am loveable.  Who believes in me.  Holds me. Likes me.  And some days tolerates me when it would be much easier to get in the car and keep driving...far, far away.

I am grateful for my Beautiful Daughter who teaches me more than I could ever imagine.  She brightens my day.  She teaches me how to love.  How to share.  She teaches me patience (or tries to).  She shows me there is more to life than just work.

I am grateful for my family.  My Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Niece and Nephews.  I value all of our time together.  How each moment together is filled with ease.  It may not always be easy but it is so comforting to know that we will always be family.  We will stick together regardless of the size of storm we must weather.

I am grateful for my newest family.  My In Laws.  These people love me and accept all of my quirks.  And it is only a marriage license that legally bonds us together.  There is comfort in knowing that they choose to be family.  That they opened their arms, home and hearts to me and that they welcomed me in and never looked back.

I am grateful for my extended family.  There is comfort in numbers.  Comfort in knowing we are all here to work and grow together.  That we may not see each other often but we know...we are all here together no matter what.

I am grateful for my friends.  All of you.  You have entered my life for a reason and I love for that.  Each time that we talk, each memory we make, each challenge we face...I am grateful.  I love you all.

I am grateful that I am able to do what I love each and every day.  That I work with people who help to grow me each day.  And I know that they think that I am helping them but truly...they teach me more than I teach them.

And of course I am grateful for all of the blessings that comfort my life.  The roof over my head, the food in the fridge, freezer and pantry, the cars in the driveway, the dogs snoring by the bed and the cat and her "presents" that grace the basement.

I am grateful for all of you that are reading this.  I am grateful for the freedom to write a blog that spouts whatever opinion I choose to type at every given moment.  I am grateful for the air that I breathe.  I am grateful for the opportunity to make an impact in my life and the lives of others every single day.  I am grateful for the moments of discomfort, challenge and even the ones of heart break and dismay because each moment shapes my life.  And I wouldn't want it any other way.

What are you most grateful for?

I wish you a day as beautiful as you!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Lisa

When Faced With Change

Our journeys are all very similar.  Even if we are not moving in the same direction.  Yesterday my Dad and I went to their North place to work with some horses.  As my Dad brought them in to the pen it was great to watch.

You could see that they were uncertain as to what was going on and whether or not they really wanted to be there. As we let them settle for a minute a couple of them felt that they were comfortable enough to graze.  Some were checking out the entire pen - determining where the boundaries were.  And three were taking great care to keep their heads up, eyes open and watching to be certain that we were not going to cause them harm.  These three would run from us when we entered their space.  One even went to the extreme of jumping over a fence to avoid us.

I don't know about you...But I can tell you that I am very much like each of these horses in different situations.  When I am faced with change and it is something that I knew was coming and it was something I wanted...I was happy to relax into the change.  Take on an attitude like...I am here now...might as well get comfortable.  When the change is a bit of a surprise and I am not sure exactly what it means to me but it seems like an adventure...I am like the horses who scouted out the pen.  I want to see what it all looks like.  I want to know what my boundaries are.  And when there is a change that wasn't my idea.  That I wasn't prepared for. That I didn't see the value in making...I am very much like the latter three horses.  I keep my head up.  I run from the change.  I protect myself at all costs.  I act from a place of fear.  Rather than a place of faith that it will all work out.

How is it that you view change?  Do you approach it from a place of Fear or Faith?  Do you find that it differs depending on the extent of change you are facing?

Today I am grateful that I am celebrating Thanksgiving with my Parents, Husband and Daughter.  That we are healthy and able to enjoy these days with one another.

I wish you a day as Beautiful as You!

Much Love,
Lisa

I don't feel like blogging...

No Sir! No Blogging Today!  (I hope you read that to the tune of "I don't feel like dancing" Scissor Sisters.

Blogging seems to be a huge challenge.  I have a ton of blog posts that are partially composed.  All of them brilliant of course.  However, I really don't feel like finishing them.  Do you ever get that way?  Where you just would rather...not?

I must be in a self sabotaging mode.  I have been eating rather clean. Nothing processed, no white flour, limited high quality meats, no dairy, sugar only in the form of red wine...but that is clean because it is made from grapes.  And we all know that grapes are a fruit.  May I take this moment to remind you that the Canadian Food Guide recommends 7-8 servings of fruit per day.  So...I am just trying to follow the rules.

All kidding aside I had been eating clean.  And in the last two days...I have veered of track dramatically.  I have had a cheese burger, french fries, mashed potatoes and gravy, meatballs, fresh baked homemade buns,  potato chips and a healthy slice of cherry pie.  The word healthy referring to the serving size rather than the nutritional value.  And I am not going to lie...the meatballs, gravy, potatoes, buns, and pie...were absolutely delicious.  The heavily processed foods were far from good.  To call them food seems to be stretching the definition of the word to its outermost limits. And I am paying the price of my gluttony.

If you are reading this post and wondering what the hell my point is....I don't blame you.  My body is using all of its energy trying to figure out how to digest all that I have inhaled in the last two days.  So the purpose of this blog is to remind myself...that I don't do well on sugar, white flour and all of the mystery chemicals that lurk within processed foods.

In order to honor my temple...I will acknowledge that I  actually hear what it is trying to tell me.  I will treat it with more love and kindness.  Tomorrow I will start the day off with a smoothie.  And I will do my very best to say no to potato chips.  I will not guarantee that I will be able to avoid the two cherry pies on the counter.  Hmmm, that makes me wonder....how would they be in a breakfast smoothie?  I mean really, I put fruit in the smoothie...what can a few cherries hurt?

I wish you a day as beautiful as you!

Much Love,
Lisa
Ps:  Today I am grateful for my weekend with my beautiful family.  And for the work and the effort that my Mom put into creating all of those delicious foods.

Are You Rocking a Ritual? Or Has Your Ritual Sunk Like A Swimming Rock?

Lately I have been feeling like I have gotten away from my morning rituals.  This didn't happen overnight.  Although it does seem like I had a ritual one morning and it was gone the next.

It is in the morning when I most feel connected to God, to my Higher Self, the Universal Energy.  I had a really good streak where I would start every morning grateful for all the blessings in my life.  Before I jumped out of bed I would spend a few minutes basking in the love and energy that fuels my life.  Once I was out of bed I would spend time reading positive affirmations.  Next I would write about those affirmations at www.750words.com  I would write about whatever thoughts came to mind surrounding those affirmations.  The 750 words exercise turned into a meditation where the words would flow more from my heart and soul than from my brain.  Then miraculously a blog post idea would appear.   Once my blog was posted and published I would move on to planning my day.  I would enter this space feeling calm, centered, balanced and optimistic about what the day could and would hold for me.

And then one day..I got busy.  Too busy to write 750 words.  So I skipped that step and stumbled straight into blogging.  And the next day (or maybe the day after that) I found that I was too busy to blog.  And then I was too busy to read affirmations and meditate on them.

And the next thing I knew...I was feeling scattered, disconnected, and unproductive.  My focus was bouncing from one idea to the next. I was looking for something to focus me and ground me. And....

32 days ago I heard about a book.  Making Miracles by Melody Beattie.  And Mai Vu (my soon to be coach) invited me to join her group - 40/40 Miracles.  And I started doing a daily writing exercise.  30 days ago I started exchanging it daily with my partner.  This is something that I make a priority in my life.  Regardless if I am at home, what day of the week it is...it gets done.  No excuses.

Now I am noticing that I am ready to build my morning rituals around this exercise.  I count my blessings in the morning before that I get out of bed.  I work on my miracle exercise.  I comment on my partner's progress.  And twice this week I have signed into 750 words.  I have even posted eleven blog posts in the last eleven days.  I am ready to return to blogging in the am.  I feel better this way.

One day recently ( in the last 10 days I am sure) I was talking to my Blog BFF and she reminded me that spiritual practice is called practice for a reason.  It is something that we need to practice.  And when I think about that...it is exactly that.  It is always there for us to come back to.  We can grow and evolve and it is always there.  It changes when we need it to.  It grows along with us when we need it to.  It welcomes us back like an old friend with open, loving arms when we return to it.

So if you have stepped away from your spiritual practice.  Or your rituals. Or your routines. Or whatever you would like to call them...please do not judge yourself harshly.  Do not blame yourself or make excuses.  Just welcome yourself back to that space with big, open and loving arms.  You are right where you need to be.  Exactly as you are.

I wish you a day as beautiful as you!

Much Love,

Lisa

The Blogging Challenge So Far

We are 11 days into this challenge with 20 days remaining.  I can honestly tell you I had great ideas for today. And they were swept away by the momentum and excitement on the day.  I do apologize and ask for your patience.  I will post early tomorrow. ...and it will be a good one.

Much love,

The Beauty of Simplicity

Today I was talking with a client and she is undertaking some serious changes in her life right now.  Her job position changed and four days later she decided to quit smoking.  COLD TURKEY.

I don't know if you have ever tried to quit smoking...but it is not an easy feat.  It is hugely challenging and the cravings don't go away overnight.  In fact I have talked to people who have been quit for 25 years and still have the occasional craving.

My client was talking about how she feels that her worst time of day is in the car on her way to work and in the car on the way home.  The morning craving seems to be something that is getting easier as the days go by.  The drive home is something that isn't easy for her.  She craves the cigarette as a means to decompress after a long and challenging day.  This has been a habit for the past two years.

Tonight on our call she shared with me a huge win.  She found that today was much easier.  Her solution was beautifully simple.  She chose to appreciate the view along her drive.  She took in the beauty of the fall leaves lining the river valley.  She loved all of the colors.

This is something that we need to remember.  A tool to keep in our back pocket.  Some place nice and handy.  To use any time that we are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and disconnected.

Where can you look to appreciate the beauty of your surroundings? Is it in the sky in the formation of the clouds? A sunrise? A sunset? The moon?  Wildlife? Flowers? Body of Water?  The sun glistening on the snow? At a kid? The elderly? Within yourself?

Regardless of where you are seeing the beauty....be sure to stop and appreciate it.

I wish you a day as beautiful as you,

Much Love,

Lisa

Today I am grateful for the beautiful colors that symbolize the change of the seasons!
